Building a Great Mother Daughter Relationship
A mother daughter relationship is very important. It is one of the most important relationships in life. When you are a mother, all you want is for your daughter to enjoy her life and be the best she can be. You have all of these expectations that your daughter might even outdo you and make you both proud.
However, for you to reach a stage where that you can be proud of, you need to ensure that you bring up your daughter in a manner that you will be proud of. The relationship begins when you conceive. Many will know instinctively that they are carrying a girl. Other women may confirm the baby’s gender through an ultra sound or other test. When you realize that you are carrying a girl, you will be in a position to prepare mentally and emotionally for the new arrival.
This is the time when you start to build your relationship with her. There are many women who talk to their unborn babies and, this goes a very long way in helping you create a bond that will last for la ong time.
Mother daughter relationships should be based on understanding and trust. It is not always easy to have a smooth and rewarding relationship but, you need to ensure that you start cultivating it when your child is little.
When you start spending quality time together from childhood, you will have the opportunity to impact the way your daughter sees the world. When your daughter is young, she looks up to you for everything. However, the real test of time comes when your daughter starts to enter a stage that is difficult.
Typically, the most difficult stage is the teen years and, this is the time where your daughter is looking to define herself. She is torn between a child’s world and the adult world and both needs and wants to make her own way in the world.
At this stage, mother daughter relationships can become very difficult and mothers should know that ‘understanding’ is the key word. You also need to be very patient with your child.
Everything that you have invested up until now will play a pivotal role at this stage. Therefore, your relationship with your daughter must be strengthened when she is young. If not, it will be nearly impossible to instill wisdom when she is 
grown up.
Teach your young daughters how to treat both themselves and others with respect. Allow them to understand the value of wisdom and hard work. Remember that children learn more when they see those values in action.
Avail yourself of help and advice from professionals and other parents when you are struggling to understand and parent your daughter and remember that she is also struggling to become herself and remain your daughter.
Believe me, the patience and understanding is well worth it. For a great mother daughter relationship will sustain both of you for the rest of your lives. It is a precious thing so treat it with great care and love.
